Let’s begin!
Exploding text effect
Step 1
Create a new flash document. The size and background colour of the flash document is up to you.
Step 2
Using the text tool (T), type your text on the stage. I chose the font Arial black with black text colour.
You can choose whatever text, font or colour you want.
Step 3
Using the selection tool (v), select your text and convert it into a symbol by right clicking and choosing “convert to symbol” or by pressing F8.
Type a suitable name > check movie clip > Click ok.
Step 4
Now, right click on your movie clip and select > Break Apart.
Again right click and select break apart. Keep doing this until you get the following image below. There should be little white dots on your text.
Step 5
On the timeline create a new key frame at frame 20. By selecting the frame and pressing F6 or by right clicking the frame and selecting convert to key frame.
Step 6
Using the lasso tool (L), select a small section of your text and move it away from the original piece of text.
Note: To create a better exploding effect move larger pieces of text away from the original piece of text. Then from the larger pieces of text move smaller pieces of text away from the larger pieces.
Step 7
Now on the timeline select frame 19 and go the properties tab at the bottom of the screen.
Select shape from the tween drop down menu.
There should be a green arrow on the timeline now.
Step 8
Choose ctrl + enter to test your text effect.
You should now have an exploding text effect.

Tatuforever, once you have converted you piece of text into a movie clip instance make sure you Break apart your movie clip instance, 3 times. Your text should then have little white dots.
